In the political world, there are those who carry such clout and influence that their power is felt shaking through the halls of Capitol Hill. Many of these people are well known to the average voter because they are advocating for what the public deems is right. One good example is George Soros.
George Soros has not known a day that he was not a left-leaning liberal. Ever since starting the Soros Fund Management, George Soros has dedicated his life to aiding the liberal cause. Throughout his career, he has accumulated $25.2 billion as his net worth. Nearly 30 years ago, he gave $14 billion to his nonprofit, the Open Society Foundations, to start this wonderful world changing organization. Just recently, he gave $18 billion more to the Open Society Foundations so that they could begin expanding into Asia and Africa.
The Open Society Foundations exists to empower struggling democracies who are looking to gain prominence in their area. This strengthening comes from economic aid and training of leaders. The Open Society Foundations has one rule; those in power must stay underneath the electorate. They believe that leaders must be accountable to the people. The Open Society Foundations has also been used by George Soros to affect politics here in the United States of America.
The Open Society Foundations gave the largest donation ever recorded in the year 2004. During this time, George W. Bush was up for reelection, and John Kerry was the nominee for Democratic Party. John Kerry, who was trying to unseat George W. Bush, was sagging in the polls. George Soros felt that much was at stake so he gave the Democratic Party $27 million to defeat President George W. Bush. Unfortunately, this was not enough to overcome the incumbent’s advantage.
George Soros would return to the political scene in the year 2008 when Barack Obama took office. George Soros saw in him everything he needed to push a liberal agenda. George Soros gave Obama’s campaign $15 million which helped him gain the primary from Hillary Clinton. However, after Barack Obama served for the first four years, George Soros was disappointed in him because he was not pushing a liberal enough agenda. George Soros would come to the aid of Hillary Clinton during her 2016 presidential run. George Soros wanted to stop Donald Trump at all costs, and he gave Hillary Clinton’s campaign $25 million. In addition to this large donation, he gave $1.5 million to several different Senators who were fighting a hard battle in purple states.
Even though Hillary Clinton would go on to lose that election, George Soros would continue fighting Donald Trump right on the ground. Through the Open Society Foundations, he organized many protests against Donald Trump and the GOP. He has also used the OSF to fund several nonprofits that hire lobbyists to stop the GOP and their bigoted demands. George Soros truly is the saving grace for liberal democracy here in the United States of America.

The 2018 midterm elections are now just months ago and the End Citizens United PAC has fired the first shots across the bow of Republican politicians who are known for accepting major financial donations for their election campaigns. End Citizens United President, Tiffany Muller revealed the list of the 20 conservative politicians who have taken the money of major political billionaire donors as they seek to influence the way the policies of both political parties are formed in the coming years; the reason for targeting Republicans has been explained by Tiffany Muller as being a result of Democrats being more open to making a change to the Citizens United Supreme Court decision of 2010.
Initially formed in 2015 to raise awareness of the problem of big money in the U.S. political landscape, End Citizens United has become a major force after the 2016 Presidential election showed the number of those concerned about the influence of billionaire donors continues to rise. The 2010 Supreme Court decision has continued to be important for many as donors such as the Koch Brothers are pushing forward a political agenda of their own through the promise of a high level of financial support for various conservative candidates in each election cycle.
Having grown to include more than three million members, End Citizens United is now one of the most important and feared PAC’s in the U.S. political environment with a large amount of power among Democrat and independent voters. The success shown by End Citizens United in raising more than $25 million prior to the 2016 Presidential elections has given the group the confidence to position itself against some of the most powerful Republicans in Washington D.C. The “Big Money 20” list revealed from the headquarters of End Citizens United in Washington D.C. is headed by two of the most famous conservatives on Capitol Hill; Texas Senator Ted Cruz and House Speaker Ted Ryan of Wisconsin have both been named to the list of top targets End Citizens United will be looking to remove from office during the 2018 midterm election cycle according to usatoday.com.
One of the main priorities for End Citizens United is to ensure the number of independent voters who hear their message about removing big money from politics is heard in a positive light. Despite the success achieved during the 2016 election cycle, End Citizens United trialed a number of ways of looking for support for Democrat candidates among independent voters who responded positively to the message of financial reform spearheaded by Democrats which will form the basis of the election messages pushed forward in 2018.

Opposition party members got the papers they needed this week to formally begin the process of having a recall vote, aimed at ousting president Nicolas Maduro. While Maduro and the establishment say opponents are making the economic crisis worse, opposition leaders are blaming Maduro and hope they can oust him as the crisis worsens.
The South American nation is suffering from shortages from groceries to water and electricity. Widespread unemployment and triple digit inflation, Danilo Diaz Granados thinks much of which is caused by falling oil prices, have created the current crisis.
The problems have made Maduro unpopular, and the opposition party won a decisive majority in Congress last year. The Venezuelan constitution allows for a recall vote after a president has served three years out of his six year term. They will have to collect 4 million signatures, which may be possible says Danilo Diaz, as some polls say 70 percent of the people in Venezuela want Maduro out of office.
They still have a long way to go. They must still get the elections commission to oversee the collection of 200,000 signatures, which will then begin the process of collecting the 4 million.
The opposition party also tried to shorten the president’s term, but the court said last week it could not shorten the term of a siting president.
