Dr. Mark Mckenna has Started a Medical Company That Looks to Change Elective Healthcare

Dr. Mark McKenna is a medical doctor, originally from New Orleans, who is also an advocate for patients, everywhere. He received his medical training while attending Tulane University Medical School and went on, afterwards, to work closely with his father in the field of medicine. As an MD and MBA, the Florida and Georgia State Board of Medical Examiners have given him license to practice, and he has worked hard to help many different patients in the past.

After Hurricane Katrina ravaged New Orleans, McKenna’s businesses were devastated, and he was forced to start over while helping to rebuild New Orleans. In 2007, he was inspired to startup ShapeMed, which was a medical practice that focused on aesthetics. After he sold the company in 2014, his time was freed up so that he could serve the public as the National Medical Director of Life Time Fitness Inc. By 2017 he was ready to go into business for himself and the public again, and so he started up OVME, which is a medical aesthetic company that is looking to change the way that elective healthcare works.

The idea for OVME came from Mckenna’s decade of experience in the medical aesthetics field. He recently revealed that being part of a company that he sold showed him other areas in the industry that could be improved. A normal day for Dr. Mckenna includes helping to wake his daughter up so they can share breakfast, and then he goes to work. After dinner with his family, in the evening, he goes to Jiu Jitsu training and then returns home to catch up on work before going to bed. He also regularly meditates to build focus and visualize his goals. To know more about him click here.

Looking back, Dr. Mckenna feels that he would of paid more attention to discovering his passion when he was younger. He believes, now, that moving slower sometimes is ok, and that in his hurry to get to his next goals in life, he may have moved too quickly through parts of his life. Without having a direction in life, he thinks that speed and moving too fast is useless. To take some of his own advice, Mckenna is an avid reader who knows that it has helped him to become a better entrepreneur.
